Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, is known to have adverse effects on the human body when it exists in excess. While normal levels of DHT promote facial and body hair growth, high levels of DHT levels can contribute to baldness and prostate problems in men and female pattern hair loss in women.

    Vitamins for Hair Loss

While DHT is one reason for hair loss occurs, poor nutrition is another major factor. HairOmega® DHT Blocker pills are formulated to include vital nutrients which includes Vitamins A, C, E, B-1, B-2, Niacin, B-6, B-7 (biotin), zinc, selenium, copper and the thyroid-supporting ingredient iodine.

Most people do not get enough of vitamins from the food you eat. HairOmega DHT Blocker Ingredients

HairOmega® DHT blocker for women’s hair loss contains a number of natural DHT Blockers including:

    Saw Palmetto

    Saw Palmetto:

An extract from the fruit of the Serenoa rapens tree, saw palmetto is one of the most commonly used vitamins for hair growth and DHT blocker pills because it has the ability to support hair growth. It does so by blocking an enzyme known as 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme is known to convert testosterone to DHT, which in turn causes hair follicle miniaturization.

Saw palmetto’s ability to regulate DHT levels also makes it one of the most popular solutions for symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, or enlarged prostate, which is often linked to excess DHT.1

Beta-sitosterol is a form of phytosterol, a plant-based sterol that has the same chemical structure as cholesterol. Because it is similar in structure to cholesterol it competes with its absorption in the body, thus reducing cholesterol levels. It also supports a healthy inflammation response which help to strengthen the immune system. It also can promote normal prostate functions and support healthy urination in males. Research shows that taking beta-sitosterol in combination with saw palmetto can help support hair growth.14 Evidence shows that beta-sitosterol may also help reduce symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, suggesting that it may influence DHT levels and hormonal balance similar to saw palmetto.2

    Pygeum africanum

    Pygeum africanum:

Extracts from the bark of the Pygeum africanum, or African cherry tree include beta-sitosterol, other plant sterols, triterpenes, and compounds known as ferulic acids. These extracts can be helpful for supporting hormonal balance and supporting hair growth.3

Lycopene is an antioxidant most commonly found in tomatoes. It is a naturally occurring pigment chemical known as a carotenoid that provides fruits and vegetables with a red color. While it is present in watermelons, apricots, grapefruits, and guavas, most of dietary lycopene in North America comes from ketchup, tomato juice, tomato sauce, and other tomato products.

Studies suggest lycopene may help maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.4  One of its main functions is the prevention of damage to your body by free-radicals. Free radicals are atoms that contain an unpaired electron, which means they can reach out and grab one from other atoms, in order to stabilize themselves. During the process of acquiring electrons from surrounding molecules, free radicals regenerate rapidly and can bombard the body’s healthy cells, causing diseases such as heart disease, immune system disorders and a decline in brain functions. By helping to neutralize damage to hair follicles and hair lycopene can support hair growth.

Quercetin is a naturally occurring bioflavonoid found in apples, black tea, onions, and a variety of other plants. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, allowing it to scavenge and neutralize free radicals. Quercetin is the most well-researched of the bioflavonoids. Studies show that it is highly synergistic with other bioflavonoids and may boost absorption of catechins in green tea and resveratrol, a beneficial compound found in red wine.5

Zinc is one of several micronutrients necessary to survival. It is most commonly found in meat, eggs, legumes, and oysters. Zinc is vital for healthy, young looking skin. As a hair growth supplement, zinc sulfate can help support hair growth. Zinc prevents skin from becoming dry and flaky. It can also reduce the risk of acne and dermatitis. It is beneficial for the immune system because it is involved in the replication of DNA and plays a vital role in the division of cells. It can also play a role in hormone balance as it may boost testosterone and inhibit aromatase, thus reducing estrogen levels.6

    Uncaria tomentosa

    Uncaria tomentosa (Cat’s claw) :

Cat’s Claw is a woody vine which contains several alkaloids as well as tannins. The plant’s extracts are known to have anti-inflammatory activities which can help boost the immune system. They also show promise for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Cat’s claw has been shown in some studies to increase white blood cell counts and has traditionally been recommended for symptoms of fatigue and to support gastrointestinal health.7

    Red raspberries

    Red raspberries:

Raspberries are rich in antioxidants, so much so that they have been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of diabetes-induced oxidative stress. Antioxidants are also great hair growth supplements because they can reduce cell-damaging free radicals, boost the immune system and strengthen hair follicles. Raspberry ketone, a natural compound in red raspberries that is responsible for giving the fruits their distinct flavor and aromatics, has been shown in some tests to support hair regrowth.8

    Buchu leaves

    Buchu leaves:

Harvested from three species of the Barosma plant, buchu leaves have traditionally been used as an antiseptic and to ease inflammation.9 The leaves of the Buchu plant contain substances that promote urinary action which helps the body get rid of toxins and relieves the symptoms of bladder and urinary tract infections.

    Pumpkin seed

    Pumpkin seed:

Pumpkin seeds are packed with nutrients. Their high vitamin C content is effective for promoting the production of collagen, which improves skin’s elasticity and gives it vitality. Because vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, it can also help reduce the effects of aging such as wrinkles and skin discoloration it may also reduce sun damage.

The seeds contain zinc which boosts the immune system and strengthens hair and nails. Pumpkin seeds also contain phytosterols which act as DHT blockers. Pumpkin seeds also have a high magnesium content. Magnesium is a mineral involved in a variety of bodily functions and are necessary for regulating blood pressure, maintaining healthy bones, and promoting balanced blood sugar levels.

Pumpkin seeds are naturally high in antioxidants, which allows for protection from free radicals and reduced inflammation. Studies also show that pumpkin seeds relieved symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and an overactive bladder. Pumpkin seeds are also high in fiber, which can help to promote digestive health and act as a prebiotic to maintain healthy gut flora.10

    Burdock root

    Burdock root

Traditionally used to aid digestion and urinary health, burdock root contains many valuable hair supplements including biotin, B1, B6, B12 and E, zinc and sulfur. Because of burdock’s absorption of toxins from the bowel and alliterative effects on the liver, it has been used in the treatment of hepatitis C. Because it eliminates toxins, it can also promote hair growth. Burdock root is also rich in antioxidant compounds, including quercetin, luteolin, and phenolic acids. Burdock root also has prebiotic properties that may help good bacteria thrive while inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria.11

    Gravel root

    Gravel root:

Like burdock, gravel root is beneficial to the urinary and renal systems. It’s also a potent anti-inflammatory agent. Gravel root has also been used to reduce arthritic pain and regulate stomach acids.12 When taken as a supplement it increases the rate of toxin removal by the kidneys.

    Marshmallow root

    Marshmallow root:

Marshmallow root is an herb with a high potential for supporting healthy digestion and reducing constipation, heartburn, intestinal colic, and other gastrointestinal issues.13 As well as protecting the gut and the lungs , marshmallow root, also known as althea root, can be used to treat inflammatory skin diseases. In terms of the benefits as a hair growth supplement, marshmallow root is rich in plant proteins which promote hair growth and soften the hair.

Parsley is often thought of as a table garnish and is overlooked for its beneficial properties. It is rich in volatile oils and flavonoids. Volatile oils have tumor inhibiting properties by aiding removal of carcinogenic (cancer causing) chemicals that don’t belong in the body. Anti-oxidants are chemicals that take the brunt of attack by oxidizing chemicals so that your normal cells. Parsley has a lot of anti-oxidants that stop attack by free radicals.

    My kidneys stopped working

After 6 pills (3 days) my became swollen and my kidneys stopped working. This is due to saw palmetto. Many years back I ran into this problem with saw palmetto, but I thought this DHT formula had less saw palmetto at 200 mg. But, it affected me and I stopped its use and after 2 days my kidneys began normal operation. Unless this DHT formula removes saw palmetto as an ingredient, I cannot use it. I don't know if other users have the same problem as I do.

Dear Valued Customer, I understand you had some kidney issues with this product. This is the first instance of this in our many years of offering this product. Did the previous product you use have stinging nettle? Sincerely, -Charles C. DrFormulas Support
